Left 4 Dead 2 Content Too Big To Be DLC, Continued Support For Original

Valve has recently been under much scrutiny since they announced Left 4 Dead 2. More than 18,000 fans have boycotted the new game claiming it was a slap in the face to all of those who purchased Left 4 Dead. The boycott members claim that the content is something that should be of a free DLC nature and not a stand alone game. But Valve says other wise. In a recent discussion with VideoGamer.com, Chet Faliszek states that the content is so grand and unique that it must be a stand alone title.

“It was just like, OK, this is big enough that this isn’t DLC, we’re not going to be able to leak it out. It’s a cohesive, single thing. It’s Left 4 Dead 2.” Chet told VideoGamer.

Chet also confirms that Left 4 Dead 1 will still be receiving updates. No word if DLC is part of those updates though. We can only wonder if this news will calm some of the enraged fans. We certainly feel a bit better. So don’t sell your copies of L4D just yet. Hold on to it and wait to see what’s in store. Besides, you wouldn’t want to abandon Zoey just like that, right?
