Microsoft’s annual Xbox convention has brought as a massive amount of news on Dead Rising 2. First and foremost we have a release date. The game will be released this summer! An August 31st release for North America and September 3rd for Europe. Very sudden but also very welcome.
Then there is the Xbox 360 exclusive Dead Rising 2: Case Zero mission that will be released before the game. It will be a playable prologue to Dead Rising 2 which will introduce us to our new protagonist Chuck Greene and link the original games events to the sequel. No pricing or release date has been given at this time. To see the new weapon creation system in action check the screens after the jump.

See that little greenish pic up there? Well thats something Visceral wants us to spend days trying to solve. Over the next 2 weeks they will continue to further reveal just what that tiny little pic is showing. All we have so far is that that may be Mr. Clark in the middle surrounded by green necromorph snot. Maybe Issac is inside a big baddies nasal cavity. Only time will tell. So keep an eye on Dead Space 2’s official Facebook page. While we stare at it…for hours…

Update: And now for round 2. The previous image was a zoomed view of what we now see. We see teeth and saliva, so its pretty safe to assume this is a mouth of some sort of necromorph, we’re guessing a worm. Lets see if we are right.

Update 2: Another image, another round of “WHAT THE F**K IS THAT?!” We still go with the wormy body idea, but you can now see what was once its eyes and possibly nose. We still can’t tell what this necromoph was before it was changed but its safe to say this thing will hardly resemble its original form. This is the 2nd to last pic. Next week we will finally see the full figure. Until then, ponder away and cry inside.

Update 3: Well here is the final image guys. Yes, I was wrong. It was not a worm… Even so, this new necromorph is still pretty ugly. He sort of shares some traits with Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis. They both share that sever cleft lip thing. So what do you guys think? Is this new necromorph not as good as previous? Is it scary or just goofy?

Capcom is looking to include every character from Resident Evil 5 in the upcoming Gold Edition. This time Josh and Excella join the fight. Scantily clad Excella likes to bring over her pretentious attitude to the way she fights, while Josh throws in some over the top wrestling moves. Both look to be interesting new additions to Mercenaries mode. RE5: Gold Edition is looking to be a pretty damn good expansion. Look for the first piece “Lost In Nightmares” and Costume Pack #1 on February 17th and “Desperate Escape” and Costume Pack #2 on March 3rd.
Hit the jump for both trailers. (more…)

Silent Hill Shattered Memories has only been out for a short time and it has already established its self as a must have for Wii owners and Silent Hill fans alike. Climax did a great job with SM and they want to go at it again.
“We’ve always loved working on the series,” said Sam Barlow, lead designer on Shattered Memories. “Since Origins we’ve spent a lot of time with the series. For us we felt we’ve put our stamp on the series with Shattered Memories so we’d love the opportunity to do another one. So everybody go and buy it!” Sam Barlow tells ONM.
We would love for Climax to make a return trip to the eerie town of Silent Hill. Hopefully a larger game on a more powerful console. So you heard it from the guys themselves. Suggest Silent Hill Shattered Memories so Konami commissions Climax for a whole new Silent Hill game. With a series that has been struggling since Silent Hill 4 every sale counts.
Also worth noticing is the release date for the EU version of Shattered Memories. March 5 is when you good ol Europeans can get your hands on the game.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is the latest entry in the long running horror series Silent Hill. A franchise know for it’s disturbing imagery, cultic religious themes and it’s ability to wow the player with more thought required stories than M. Night Shyamalan could ever cook up. Shattered Memories takes almost all we know about Silent Hill and turns it upside down in an effort to appeal to newbies and to give the diehard fans something new. Does this re-imagining live up to the Silent Hill name? Find out after the jump. (more…)

Remember that 2nd episode that will becoming to Resident Evil 5 as DLC and the Gold Edition? You know, the one with no name yet we already knew what it was called? Yeah, that one! Desperate Escape has not been officially announced by Capcom. The episode follows Jill Valentine’s actions after she is freed from Wesker’s mind controlling titty bot. Jill and BSAA agent Josh Stone race to save Chris and Sheva in their last fight with Wesker. You know that fight. It consisted of boulder punching and a lot of “CHRRRRIIIIISSSS!” screams. Desperate Escape will be releasing March 3rd on Xbox Live and March 4th on Playstation Network.
Update: Capcom just released new screens and 2 new trailers. Hit jump to see them. (more…)
As one of the most controversial games of the year, Left 4 Dead 2 is now in the public’s hands and perhaps even those who once boycotted it. But is Left 4 Dead 2 worth full price? Isaac, my have you changed! You lost some weight, ripped your armor and lost most of your helmet. But you’re still sexy…ughm. Well. Anyway, Isaac has got a new look in Dead Space 2. Thanks to the January issue of Game Informer we get to have a first look at new meaner Issac. Perhaps this is just what we should of ended up with by the end of Dead Space 1. It looks very reminiscent of the first miner suit but just tattered and broken. The visor is also a bit different. Maybe Isaac has replaced some of his mining gear with actual combat oriented stuff. Either way, Isaac is ready for some more necromorph ass kicking. Expect details galore when this issue hits stands later this month.
