Free Resident Evil 5 ‘Figures’ Now Available

IMG00290-20100215-1915

Seems like Capcom let this little DLC slip from any press release. Nothing substantial, but for you fans that love collecting virtual figures of video game characters you’re in luck. The DLC brings newcomers Rebecca Chambers and Barry Burton from earlier Resident Evil games; you know, the actual scary ones. The content is only available on Xbox Live. Seeing as how all of the new RE5 DLC will be a few days behind on the PS3 this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

P.S. Yes my HDD’s name is “Super Sexy Sunshine”. Wanna fight about it?

Rebecca and Barry Coming To Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition

Well look-e here. Looks like Capcom was serious about this whole “Reunion” thing. Rebecca Chambers (Resident Evil 0) and Barry Burton (REmake) are making a come back in the upcoming Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Both Barry and Rebecca’s costumes are from their Gamecube adventures. Rebecca is a girly girl and she really shows it off in her finishing moves while Barry is a tough guy cliche complete with 1 liners and a beard. The 2 will be part of the Mercenaries Reunion pack DLC or bundled with the Gold Edition. Whether they come together in the same pack is unclear. Look for the first pack February 17th.

Hit the jump for multiple screens and the 2 trailers.

R_exc_0052-00000_bmp_jpgcopy

Capcom is looking to include every character from Resident Evil 5 in the upcoming Gold Edition. This time Josh and Excella join the fight. Scantily clad Excella likes to bring over her pretentious attitude to the way she fights, while Josh throws in some over the top wrestling moves. Both look to be interesting new additions to Mercenaries mode. RE5: Gold Edition is looking to be a pretty damn good expansion. Look for the first piece “Lost In Nightmares” and Costume Pack #1 on February 17th and “Desperate Escape” and Costume Pack #2 on March 3rd.

Hit the jump for both trailers. (more…)

re5gemainvisual580

Remember that 2nd episode that will becoming to Resident Evil 5 as DLC and the Gold Edition? You know, the one with no name yet we already knew what it was called? Yeah, that one! Desperate Escape has not been officially announced by Capcom. The episode follows Jill Valentine’s actions after she is freed from Wesker’s mind controlling titty bot. Jill and BSAA agent Josh Stone race to save Chris and Sheva in their last fight with Wesker. You know that fight. It consisted of boulder punching and a lot of “CHRRRRIIIIISSSS!” screams. Desperate Escape will be releasing March 3rd on Xbox Live and March 4th on Playstation Network.

Update: Capcom just released new screens and 2 new trailers. Hit jump to see them. (more…)

Chris and Sheva’s New Duds

vlcsnap-2009-12-11-15h14m19s255

Daymn, Chris and Sheva mad fresh yo. -End Hip Hop Voice. Chris and Sheva’s new costumes now have trailers of their very own. Capcom has released a video for Chris in his S&Mish gear and Sheva’s little red riding hood get up. Both seem to add some new weapons and attacks to the characters. Since these trailers are both from Mercenaries mode, we don’t know just yet if they will be playable in Single Player.

Chris’s creepy strap get up is perfect for punching some boulders. Flexibility is key you know. These costumes will be available for download on February 17 (Xbox 360) and the 18th (PS3) or at retail with the Gold Edition of RE5. Hit the jump for both trailers. (more…)

Resident Evil: Afterlife Delayed

00029406

Oh no! The sure to be cinematic masterpiece that is Resident Evil: Afterlife has been delayed from a warm August date to a chilly October 1st. The delay is due to Screen Gems giving Paul Anderson more time to perfect his 4th Resident Evil film. From the man who directed one of our favorite films Event Horizon, we just don’t understand how the Resident Evil films could be so lackluster. Its a shame really. Afterlife could always turn things around but with a story of Alice going to a prison to save Wentworth Miller (Prison Break…yeah) whos playing Chris Redfield we kind of already lost hope. Well one can dream can’t he?

goldmember

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition has just been announced by Capcom. This is the U.S version of the Alternative Edition. The pack contains the original game, 2 new episodes (’Lost In Nightmares’ and the yet-to-be-announced-but-we-know-what-it’s-called-anyway ‘Desperate Escape’) and the new costume pack with new mercenaries will be releasing on March 9th.

The DLC has also been dated. ‘Lost In Nightmares’ will be releasing February 17th on Xbox 360 and February 18th for the PS3 along side the first Costume pack. The 2nd episode ‘Desperate Escape’ and the 2nd costume pack will release March 3rd/March 4th. The new content will not be sold in stores separately, you either have to download or re-buy the whole game. The PS3 version will contain all the content on a single Blu-Ray while the 360 version will come with a DLC voucher. Both will cost $49.99.

Resident Evil 5’s 2nd Episode Called ‘Desperate Escape’

154596-RE5AE

It seems the UK rating board has let slip the name of the 2nd Resident Evil 5 episode. Called ‘Desperate Escape’ we can only imagine that it will about escaping! From what? No clue. Maybe this episode will let us play as Chris who is trying to get the steroid monkey of his back, and lots of Quick Time Events appear to resist temptation. Or just an uncut chapter or something new all together.

This episode is to be $5 as well and will release along side the flash back episode ‘Lost In Nightmares’ around February. Expect an announcement on this new episode soon.

Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition Contains 2 New Episodes

wtf

When Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition was announced we were pretty excited. We get to return to a mansion the likes of the original Resident Evil as Chris Redfield and his long time partner Jill Valentine. The 2 working together again in the Spencer Estate brought back fond memories of when Resident Evil was actually a horror game. Capcom has announced the pricing and and a few new DLC packs. But wait, what’s this? Another DLC episode besides the “Lost in Nightmares”? Capcom you sneaky SOB. It looks like the ‘Lost In Memories’ and the yet to be announced episode will both be selling for $5 or 400MSP. Pretty good pricing if you ask us. We expect to see the content hit everywhere some time around February (which is for Japan).

Other things to take notice of are the 2 new costume packs and this new ‘Mercenaries Reunion’. It’s pretty safe to assume more characters from the Resident Evil series will be added into the Mercenaries mode. But what could the 2nd episode be? Our minds are racing. Maybe it’s something focused on Jill’s portion of the RE5 campaign. We would love for it to be Resident Evil 2, but that’s just too good to be true. No matter what it is, at $5 it will be worth it.
