Capcom has always been known for putting in some bonus modes and treats to liven up their games after completion and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles follows that tradition. We have 2 videos here that show of some of the bonuses we can expect to see in this title.
There will be a Tofu mode…Seriously. Tofu mode hasn’t been in a Resident Evil title since the original Playstation trilogy. What basically goes on in this mode will be that all enemies will be replaced by gelatinous squares of soy bean. Some will be burnt, some will be clean and uncooked, but they all can be shot into small little white chunks of healthy eating.
The other video shows Claire, Leon, Krauser, and Steve’s alternate duds. Leon’s alternate costumes includes his jacket from Resident Evil 4 and a questionable red biker jacket. Claire can sport a cow girl costume or a revealing biker one. Steve and his androgynous self can also dress in some “I can’t quit you” gear. The bonuses already seem pretty fun and we can’t wait to shoot some Tofu while dressed for a rodeo.

TGS brings more Darkside Chronicles with the 2 very new and awesome trailers. Both highlight the new South American shanty town campaign with Leon and his new partner Jack Krauser. Mention of a new strain of virus can be heard near the end of the trailer. Hmm, maybe Capcom is writing a way to bring back the T or G-Virus back into the RE series.
New characters, BOWs and a new campaign certainly makes DC a must have for Resident Evil fans. Hit the jump for both videos.

TGS has brought us some new screenshots of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. These screens highlight the games 3rd campaign which brings Leon S. Kennedy to a small shanty village ala Resident Evil 5. RE4 baddie Krauser is also seen in the screens showing off his bad assery as Leon’s partner. Hopefully Darkside Chronicles will tell us how Krauser went down the Darkside later this fall. Hit the jump for the screens.

Clair, Leon and now Steve Burnside from the upcoming Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles have jumped onto the Twitter band wagon and now tweet themselves. 17 year old Steve Burnside is the newest tweeter of the 3 and he is as whinny as any other teen who uses Twitter. If you want to get to know the fictional characters from the upcoming Darkside Chronicles then be sure to check them out.
Capcom brings another 2 gameplay trailers for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles to this years Penny Arcade Expo. As before, one is for the Resident Evil 2 portion and the other for the Code Veronica portion. The game looks great. We still cry for REmake 2 but Darkside Chronicles looks like it may ease that want. Hit the jump for the 2 videos.

European Gamers can rejoice in the fact that the upcoming Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will have a Wii Zapper bundle. This marks the first time that Nintendo and a 3rd party publisher team up for a bundle like this in Europe. The pack will be available on November 27th in EU and there has yet to be a US confirmation. Having the zapper bundled in with the game is pretty convenient, so lets hope the US can get in on the zombie shooting.
The latest Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles trailer sure is a dramatic one. In this latest trailer from Gamescon, we see the events from Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica in a much better light. With better acting, storytelling and cut scenes. Seeing some of the most iconic scenes from the Resident Evil series remade with excellent CG similar to the recent RE film “Degeneration” is a absolute treat. The more and more we see Capcom making Resident Evil scary again on the Wii we get a bit upset that a full RE2 remake isn’t coming to the more “grown up” consoles. It’s only right since the Wii missed out on Resident Evil 5. Hit the jump for the full Gamescon trailer. (more…)
Capcom has released the box art for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. The box arts are typical mysterious background plus bad ass action poses. One interesting bit seen in the American box art is the shadowy figure that’s unmistakeably Krauser from RE4. Leon and Krauser’s past will finally be shown in the new non-remake scenario.
Capcom has let its E3 2008 trailer slip a day early and we at Hell Descent with our vigilante hawk like eyes have captured it and are now hosting it. The new trailer shows the games Code Veronica portion with Clair Redfield and Steve Burnside moving across Rockfort Island. REDC is shaping up to be a great looking RE game and it actually looks scary. Something absent in Resident Evil’s recent African adventure.
The 2nd Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (what a mouth full) trailer has been released by Capcom and it sure is exciting. Breaking the mold of traditional on rail shooters, REDC adds realistic movements and dialog from the players. Such as fumbling, tripping and even avoiding direct sight with pursuers. With such frantic gameplay this may actually be the first scary Resident Evil in a very long time.
